All RIFFed up and nowhere to go

I knew something was up when my boss showed up in my classroom and said we needed to talk. First thing that ran through my mind was that a student or parent had complained about me—every first-year teacher’s nightmare. I’d noticed his somber demeanor and wondered if my job was in jeopardy. It was, but not for the reasons I thought.

365 days of gratitude

Several years ago, my husband and I attended a marriage conference at a resort hotel, along with a few hundred other married couples. Recently, I asked my husband if he would be interested in being a guest writer for my blog. He said he'd think about it. He's really an excellent writer and a voracious reader--he could write about any number of topics. He's also a very busy guy, so it may be awhile before his writing makes an appearance here, unfortunately.

Once upon a time . . .

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives. He loved the fourth wife the most. He adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.
